Danu Innasithamby, a prominent Sri Lankan media personality, author, and cultural advocate, was honoured with the Global Excellence Award for Media Leadership, Cultural Diplomacy & Humanitarian Impact at the Golden Business Excellence Awards 2025, held at Cinnamon Life’s Lumina Hall at City of Dreams in Colombo.

Danu currently serves as Head of Channel at Hi TV, where he plays a key role in shaping contemporary television content, nurturing new voices, and driving programming that resonates with diverse audiences across Sri Lanka. His work has positioned him as one of the country’s most recognisable and influential media figures.

Beyond media, Danu is a Brand Ambassador for World Vision Lanka, actively supporting initiatives focused on child wellbeing, mental health, and community upliftment. Through this role, he has consistently used his public platform to raise awareness, mobilise support, and encourage compassionate action, particularly in underserved regions.

Danu is also the author of Jaffna Boy – Colombo Diva, a memoir that explores themes of identity, reconciliation, resilience, and belonging in post-war Sri Lanka. The book has been widely discussed for its personal yet socially reflective narrative, combining honesty, humour, and cultural insight.
